menu planner + bountiful baskets

i am so bad at coming up with menus for my husband, myself and the fetus growing inside me. breakfast and lunch i can handle, but dinners never seem to work out as smoothly as i always imagined they would when i imagined marital/family bliss. that's why i'm in love with these menu planners designed by ollibird. i am definitely going to have to print one out and laminate it.the best part about these is that you can download them for FREE. for instructions on how to do so, you can click here.

while we're thinking about food and menus, i am super excited because as of six minutes ago, i just ordered my first bountiful basket! i heard about bountiful baskets from a few people, and decided it was time to finally try it out. i get to pick up my first fruit and veggie loaded basket on saturday morning. unfortunately this amazing deal is only available in a few states located out here in the western half of the US of A, but who knows, maybe the word will spread and all of my east coast friends will someday enjoy the benefits of bountiful baskets. so here's how it works: it's all volunteer based. it is not a business. it's a pool of people's donations. cool, right? so you pay fifteen dollars for a basic basket which is 50% fruit and 50% veggies. form what i hear you get all sorts of fresh goodies that are grown locally from fresh peaches to summer squash. from there you can do cool add-ons like get a mexican packet that comes with fresh cilantro, limes, grey squash, jalapeños, tomatillos, etc. they also have home made nine grain bread baskets available, along with other add-ons like a tortilla basket, or a granola basket. how awesome is this organization? if you're living out west, i highly recommend you try it out.
